About

About the goal

The main goal of Interviews with Diplomats, Get to know Everything about Diplomacy is to inform listeners and readers on what Diplomacy is, and what Diplomats their duties are.

Societal goal

My societal goal with these interviews is to raise awareness for what diplomacy is, as it is one of the most important aspects of geopolitics.

Inform about countries' identities

With so much misinformation out there, it's easy to lose sight of a country's true identity. Every diplomat is here to share the hear of their culture and values. My goal with these interviews is to let them tell their own story. While diplomats represent their government's official positions and national narratives, hearing from them directly allows us to understand the perspectives that drive national policy beyond just social media snippets.

A note on Diplomacy

Diplomacy is the art of representing national interests on the world stage. While these interviews provide authentic, fact-based insights, they are part of a political dialogue. Recognizing that every diplomat shares their country's unique narrative is a key part of becoming a well-informed global citizen.

Inspiration for the youth

Although geopolitics and diplomacy can be considered quiet boring, I think that the youth should interact with those two subjects, since it can increase awareness, and allows young people to make wiser decisions.

It's easy to get the wrong idea about a country when you only see short clips or opinions on social media. That's why these interviews matter. I talk to experts who have spent their lives representing their homes. They help us see the authenitic traditions and values of their country, rather than just the one-sided stories we see online.

Conducting interviews with qualified diplomats and then uploading them to accessible and modern sources such as YouTube and Spotify creates an attractive opportunity for the youth to learn about the subjects discussed.

Share different perspectives

All diplomats have extremely unique experiences and therefore unique perspectives. All diplomats interpret certain information in a different way, which allows us to have diverse perspectives. The diplomats featured in the interviews all have different perspective, and I hope that the audience can learn from these perspectives. It is important to keep in mind that diplomacy is inherently political, and being fact-based is not the same as being neutral. Every country communicates through its own narrative, and by listening to these diverse viewpoints, we can develop a more nuanced and critical understanding of the world.

About me

My name is Előd Pályi, and I am currently 17 years old. I was originally born in Budapest, Hungary, and I lived there until the age of five. At five years old, I moved to The Netherlands, which is the country where I currently live. I am currently an IBDP student at the International School Groningen, where I mainly "specialize" in Global Politics, Economics, and English Language and Literature. Besides learning and conducting these interviews, I like to read and attend events.

I hope that I can share valuable knowledge with the rest of the world through the interviews which I conduct, so that people get inspired to become politically active themselves.
